The pelham is a bit with leverage.
The longer the shanks, the sharper the effect. This pelham has short shanks and therefore a milder leverage than the normal pelham, but the aid is faster.
The baby pelham can be used with one or two reins. If you choose to ride with one rein, a pelham strap is needed to connect the bit rings to the rings of the shanks so that the effect is slightly softer than with two reins.
A pelham is mainly used with strong horses.
This bit is not suitable for the inexperienced rider.
